Featured Stories, Week of January 28: "Super, Hero." and "Dance Revolution"

Each week we feature a story written by one or two of our group members at one of our meetings. For this week's featured stories, Erik gave the group an inventive series of questions to answer, beginning with "what is/was your dream job." Our main character was to be an expert at that job, and be in the process of going through items of their lost significant other. The twist - through the process, the main character discovers that significant other was leading a double life. From there, questions led through a series of prompts that determined whether the significant other would be alive/dead, good/villian, and the impact that had on the actions of the main character. Featured Stories, Week of January 21: "Harrington: Space Detective" and "Snippet&quot

Each week we feature a story written by one or two of our group members at one of our meetings. For this week's featured stories, the group was given a list of professions and asked to come up with a character. Once they did some quick character development, they were told to write a story involving that character, but with a twist: Gender swap it. How dare he blame her for the death of her partner? She wasn’t the one who pulled the trigger that sent a la

Featured Stories, Week of January 14th: "Connie" and "The Well of Happiness"

Each week we feature a story written by one or two of our group members at one of our meetings: This week's assignment was sneaky - we handed out an envelope full of folded-up strips of paper containing prompts and told everyone to write for 20 minutes - and not to show anyone else their prompts. After we went around the circle and read, we revealed to the group that they all had the exact same prompt: Young Girl Found True Love Jealous Friend Has A Wedding Was Killed In Jealousy The variety of stories that came out of the exercise was so amazing! As a group we narrowed it down to two stories to share on the blog this week, so here they are. Connie by Roxas Cole Delain didn’t know how she go

Featured Story week of Jan. 7, 2018: Slathbeg and Its Dark Doings

Each week we feature a story written by one or two of our group members at one of our meetings. Today's featured story involves a prompt taken from the chapter titles of an antique book detailing one man's travels from England to Egypt and back again. We had 20 minutes to write. Slathebeg and Its Dark Doings By Bryan Mahoney If you ever find yourself in the tiny town of Slathbeg near the alpaca farm in County Tyrone, and you're overcome with peckishness from a hard day's travel from the bustling schoolyards of Cork to the more metropolitan fair of a Sligo or Donegal, you might want to pop by the pub by the river where the old witch's dolman used to be. There you might find a fiddler wailing
