Hi all - I just really wanted to create this space as a way to kep the conversation going about generative AI and how AI programs are changing the way we consider the arts. I recently attended a great discussion on the topic with the Burbank Art Association, where some questions were posited that I thought were provocative. (Here's my blog post on the subject).
- If a writer uses ChatGPT to create a written work, is that writing? Is that person a "writer?"
- Ghost writers have existed forever. If someone puts their name to a ghostwritten work, is that the same as using ChatGPT to produce work?
- Humans piece together experience and education to create their writing; how is that different from what AI is doing?
